Is it possible to permanently connect to internet via proxy?
I configured the proxy settings via yast. but It seems that im not connected to the internet.
The reason I wanted to connect to the internet is because I need to setup mail server (gmail) for a system that needs email.

could you probably be a bit more precise what you mean by “permanently connect to internet”? I’m unsure if you’re facing the situation that your (HTTP/…) proxy settings seem to be lost or don’t get applied to some application, or if you’re trying to set up some mechanism (mail server?) that needs to be reachable from the Internet (via some sort of proxy), or if you’re trying to set up your email server to forward mails to Gmail via some proxy.
