How do I remove `volumestoragepoolmap.remove` which has been running for ~ 2 months (3904545 seconds)?

We have a volumestoragepoolmap.remove process stuck since June. Is it safe to just delete directly from the database? I wonder what’s the best/recommended way to deal with this?
