Increase number of workspaces (virtual desktops) in SLED12

Gnome starts with 4 virtual desktops available from the workspace switcher on the task bar. Is it possible to increase this number and, if so, how?

Thanks

ROB

Sure:

Right-click on the virtual desktops thing, Pager Settings: Virtual
Desktops: change 4 to something else.

Good luck.

By the ‘virtual desktops thing’ I assume you mean the thing just to the left of the clock that says 1/4, 2/4 etc?

Right clicking on this does not bring up a pager settings menu, it just brings up the worspace selector, exactly the same as a left click. I have installed 10 SLED12 machines and they all do this.

Hi
Then go to Settings->Tweak Tool->Workspaces and set the workspace
creation to static and then set the number of workspaces via the + or -
buttons. Or from the command line;

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences num-workspaces <your_num>
