Rancher desktop issue on Windows 11

Hi team, I have Windows 11 Pro on my laptop. I tried installing the latest version of Rancher Desktop latest and even tried older versions from the official Rancher site. However, every time I finish and racher start, I get the following message, which might not reflect what I have on my machine. I would appreciate your help in resolving this issue.

Rancher Desktop is unable to start

Rancher Desktop cannot start because requirements are missing or not configured:

  • Requires Windows version 10-1909 or newer

Please ensure all requirements are met and try again. Rancher Desktop will now close.

I get this message when I already have Windows 11.

Hi,

It seems like Rancher Desktop is detecting an issue with your Windows version, even though you’re on Windows 11 Pro. Try the following:

  1. Update Windows: Ensure your system is fully updated.
  2. Enable Virtualization: Check BIOS/UEFI and ensure Intel VT-x/AMD-V and Hyper-V are enabled.
  3. Enable WSL2: Run wsl --install in an Administrator PowerShell window.
  4. Reinstall Rancher Desktop: Try reinstalling the latest version from the official GitHub page.
