I receive the following error in message log:
base-suse15 systemd-vconsole-setup[509]: KD_FONT_OP_SET failed, fonts will not be copied to tty7: Invalid argument
–so I think it might be a similar issue, but I was wondering if there was something more definitive from SUSE on this.

So what is the status of the service if you run the recommended command?
FWIW I remove the plymouth stuff lock the packages and rebuild initrd…
I see the same warning, but the service is disabled and dead…

So does the file (as indicated in the openSUSE Forum thread) /usr/lib/systemd/system/plymouth-start.service, does it have the line Wants=systemd-ask-password-plymouth.path?
