Hi and welcome to the Forum
Do you know if it’s a 32bit or 64bit CPU? Amount of RAM, Look at the kernel version, CPU and RAM with the following commands;
uname -a
lscpu
free
If it’s a 64bit CPU there are some options, but might be time to just dedicate the machine to the software (since it may not run on later versions) and don’t connect to the internet…

Hi and thank you for your replay. the laptop is Dell precision M4300 whit 64 bit intel Centrino 8 gigabyte ram and Nvidia quadro FX 360M.
We don’t do anything else whit this machine so there is no problem whit that.

Since “Suse Linux 10.1” could refer to SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop
(SLED) or SUSE Linux, an former name for what is now known as openSUSE,
please could you post the output from “cat /etc/*release”.
Note the former is a commercially supported Linux distribution from SUSE
whilst the latter is community supported at
https://forums.opensuse.org/forum.php .
