alternative to VMDP from suse

Hi,

i’m deeply surprised finding out that i have to pay for pv drivers for windows guests on SLES 11 SP4 and kvm (https://www.suse.com/de-de/products/vmdriverpack/how-to-buy/). I didn’t expect that, and a fee of 300$ per year for some drivers is impertinet in my eyes !
Is there an alternative ? I found https://www.windowsservercatalog.com/results.aspx?text=Red+Hat&bCatID=1282&avc=10&ava=0&OR=5&=Go&chtext=&cstext=&csttext=&chbtext=, but if i follow a link i can’t find a downloadable file.
Did anyone manage to use the drivers provided from Fedora (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Windows_Virtio_Drivers) ?

This is the first time i’m deeply disappointed from suse.

Bernd

Hi
The drivers need to be built on a windows machine (I’m guessing some $$$ for a win build environment, WHQL signing etc?) if you follow the links at the end (Fedora wiki link) you will get the code to build yourself?

AFAIK, you can download (no support or maintenance)?

If you follow the link you find an iso with the drivers. No need to build yourself.
