I have a SLES11 SP3 machine I upgraded to SP4. I ran the update per these instructions:

Everything seemed to go fine. However, at the end the process (I used zypper), the /etc/SuSE-release is still showing “PATCHLEVEL = 3”. How can I fix this?

I had the same issue in January with some patches. Disable the SP3
repositories and then the patch process should pull the SP4 package that
has the /etc/SuSE-release file within.
