authentication token manipulation error

I’m running SUSE 11 SP3 with samba configured.

Through the x server login only I will get the error: authentication token manipulation error right after I type in a user name and hit ENTER.

Only happens the first time, the next time around I able to proceed to the password screen and enter in my password.

I only see this on servers that I have SAMBA configured so I’m guessing that it has something to do with it. Any ides on how I can fix this ?

Thanks

Hi cisaksen,

any further details in the log (syslog, SAMBA logs)? How’s PAM configured for the x login service? Depending on which services are active there, I’d recommend to increse debug levels for your PAM modules to isolate the root cause.
