Checking SLES subscription status?

Hello,

we’re currently in a process of taking over administration of a SLES 10 server with (possibly expired?) subscription, but have no idea when it’s due and what Novell account it’s subscribed with.

How can we check the subscriptions status (i.e. expiry date, portal account, …) with having only ‘root’ CLI access?

Regards,

Danilo

Hi
Have you tried to refresh the repositories with the rug command? If you
can refresh then it’s still active. I will need to check with my SUSE
contacts about the rest.

A question to ask if you haven’t already, is whether the version you’re using is still supported and what sort of support your subscription covers, including whether you have Long Term Service Pack Support https://www.suse.com/support/programs/long-term-service-pack-support.html
http://support.novell.com/lifecycle/ indicates that all versions of SLES 10 are now out General Support. Detailed life cycle info is at http://support.novell.com/inc/lifecycle/linux.html

You can see which version of SLES you have with

$ cat /etc/SuSE-release
