Container save the previous state

Does the container when stopped save the previous state?
Ca nit work like we Hibernate the windows system?
For example: I am running tomcat in one container and due to some reason I stop that container. Can we get the last state saved somewhere, so that we can start the container from where it stopped. Becuase in such cases starting of container takes long time as tomcat needs to be started again. So is there any way that it can retrive the state of the container where it got stopped?
