download rpm packege

I want to instal on my server the sysstat package.
I’ve find this informathion https://www.suse.com/LinuxPackages/packageRouter.jsp?product=server&version=12&service_pack=&architecture=x86_64&package_name=sysstat-isag
How can I download this package or any other?

Actually, I need to install the sysstat on diffrent versions SLES (12 SP1 x86_64, 10 SP3 x86_64, 9 i586).

The download site is probably a good place to get this, assuming you do
not have the install media nearby or a channel registration:

https://download.suse.com/patch/finder/

Choose ‘SUSE Linux Enterprise Server’ from the top drop-down, and then
type ‘sysstat’ in the text field at the bottom of that first column; wait
a minute and you’ll see where sysstat is found among various versions of SLES.

The easier option, though, is to just get it from a subscribed repository:

sudo zypper in sysstat

Good luck.

Thanks a lot.

I know about zypper. I haven`t opportunity to use it.

I`ve found and download sysstat for SLES 12 SP1 and SLES 10 SP3.
But I haven’t found for SLES 9 i586. Where is possible to look still?

SLES9 is now so old and unsupported that SUSE have stopped
providing access to media and patches for it. Unless you require
a specific version of sysstat your best bet is probably to find a
CD (or ISO) which contains the version as shipped.

Note SLES10 will soon fall into this category too.

Ok. Can I use packages from OpenSUSE 9.0?
Do these have compatibility?

In short, no. I’m not sure there was a version 9.0 of openSUSE, or
SUSE Linux as it was previously known, but it’s only recently
with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP2 and openSUSE Leap 42.2
where SLES and openSUSE are more aligned.

Which specific release of SLES9 are you using? Please post the
output from “cat /etc/*release”. Knowing this perhaps it’s
possible to find a download hosted by a third-party.

Given you are using software that is no longer supported (or even
available) is upgrading to a later version an option for
you?

It’s no option for me. I can’t doit because of the owner of server are against the upgrade at the moment.

cat /etc/*release

SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (i586)
VERSION = 9

They do know it’s way out of support? It’s so old it’s no longer listed
on the SUSE Support Lifecycle page[1].

cat /etc/*release

SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (i586)

Ouch! The above would suggest the original release of SLES9 (with no
Service Pack). Had you been using SLES9 SPsomething I could’ve pointed
you at a Novell download page for the corresponding CD ISOs but not for
SLES9 (SP0).

For SLES9 (SP)
https://www.novell.com/documentation/zlm/esd/di_sles9-zlm66_x86-amd.html
lists the filenames and MD5 checksums of the ISO files you need. I’m not
sure which CD will contain the sysstat package but please do verify the
MD5 checksum of any ISO file downloaded from a third-party site.

Ew… that’s old.

Somehow, don’t ask, I found an old DVD ISO, and have confirmed it has
sysstat. I am not currently willing to try to manually wade through RPM
dependencies to make sure you have everything you need for sysstat to
install properly, but I’m willing to post the ancient, old, outdated DVD
ISO if that helps. I’ll wander over to the web interface and send you
(angul) a private message with the URL shortly; if you do not see it in
the next hour or so, please nag me.

Good luck.

Let us know when you upgrade the box; SLES 9 was decent (so much better
than SLES 8) but the later versions are similarly much better at just
about everything, and probably with software that is much more-secure too.

Good luck.
