Hi,
I have an OS wich I built as USB/Hard Disk Image so I could use the
Overlay Files feature with Testdrive. But when I try to launch from
Testdrive, it shows me the grub interface.
I press on my OS, and it try to boot, and it gives me this message.
Loading Xen
WARNING: no console will be available to OS
Loading linux.vmx…
error: terminal ‘gfxterm’ isn’t found.
Loading initrd…
error: file ‘/boot/initrd’ not found.
Press any key to continue…_
I have built the OS using live CD, and it seems to work. But I want the
USB/Hard Disk Image so I can do overlay files.
Thanks,
Apparently you miss grub2 on boot device. Hard to say more, I have no
idea what Testdrive is nor how do you launch from it. Could you explain
in more details (also how is it related to SUSE Studio)?
Hi,
Testdrive is a feature in SUSE Studio where you get to try out my OS in
your browser (I use the browser Chrome for it).
I think that mabe Grub is installed because when I boot the live CD both
on Testdrive, and on a real laptop, it works.
Thanks,
If the virtualization technology is not important to you, maybe try
building using something other than Xen, eg a generic disk image or
VMware image (You can download and install VMware Player which is
completely free although you need to provide some information
about yourself).
If you are building a Xen image, do you have Xen installed? If you
haven’t, this may be required (I don’t know about this, I haven’t tried
this option), go to the Virtualization forum and find threads that
describe how to install Xen.
