Hi, I am looking for option to list all the available kernel updates for SLES11 SP3 and SLES11 SP4. I can definitely do this using two separate machines/VMs one each of SP4 & SP3. But is it possible to do that using a single machine/VM. Lets say add SP3 repo on a SP4 machine and use that to query all the available kernel updates for SP3 + SP4.
Thanks,
Amit

Theoretically you should be able to install and register a SLES11
SP4 machine (thus receive the SLES11 SP4 repos) then manually add
the SLES11 SP3 repos. So long as you didn’t then install or
update any packages (or at least be careful when you did!) I
think it should work.
However I can think of several ways to achieve this which are safer:
-
install SUSE Manager or SMT, the latter is free, then mirror
the SLES11 SP3 and SP4 repos which you’d then be able to
query
-
check for kernel packages for SLES11 SP3 and SP4 at
https://download.suse.com/patch/finder
-
check https://wiki.microfocus.com/index.php/S
USE/SLES/Kernel_versions which lists various kernel
releases
HTH.
