How to disable CPU FREQUENCY SCALING

Hi there,

I have a problem with my SLES4SAP 11 SP4, it keeps rebooting itself every once in a while and everytime it reboots it coincides with the CPU Frequency Scaling

Anyway, Can someone tell me a step by step on how to disable the CPU Frequency Scaling feature without any reboots.

Hi
What CPU(s) is the system using? It maybe just the module not loaded…

I do not need to load the module successfully but I just need to disable it. the system is on a virtual machine on vmware esx host 6

Hi
Check the output from lsmod for the relevant cpu scaling kernel modules
and remove, then blacklist them.

But it does sound more like an ESXi/host issue rather than a guest
issue.

As per the other post in the networking forum. I think that’s a red
herring. Literally every SLES Server in a VM throws that message without
any real world issues.

I’m sure cpufreq can be disabled, but I never bothered…
