Is the file access for SES planned?

Hi to everyone!

Does SUSE planing to implement the file-level access to SES, via NFS and/or CIFS/SMB?
For example, will the configuration of SES with NFS-ganesha added be suported by SUSE?

The recently released SUSE Enterprise Storage 3.0 includes file system

OK. Now the actual Ceph (10.2.2, JEWEL) got the CephFS status ‘production ready’ officially. Congratulations!

Let’s dive deeper and try to mount the actual CephFS and export it via NFS and SAMBA servers, which are supploed with SES/SLES.
NFS - no issues found, filesystem was attached to VMWare and used as datastore for crash load tests (about 1 week remaining).

SMB/CIFS - found an issue. The filesystem, attached to Windows, reports ‘no space’ to the folder rename attempt. While create, delete forder requests are processed fine.
File operation are not fine as well: ‘no space’ to any write attempt.
Tried to export ordinary filesystem via same SAMBA server - everything is fine. Still investigating more…

A late reply I know but you may be interested to know that at SUSECON this week SUSE announced the release and availability in December of SUSE Enterprise Storage 4[1] which is the first production release of CephFS.
