Could you help me out with the following challenge ?
Setup : OES11 with NSS
Application which browses to a picture on the NSS volume through :
\\ipadress\Documents\pictures\picturesname.jpg
Application is VERY slow on showing the picture.
It will take up to 10 seconds (!) for a picture to show.
After the initial loading, all other pictures will be shown without delay.
Customer logs-in through the Novell Client.
Because of the initial delay, I’m thinking about a delay with authentication.
Also problem is both with Windows Xp as with Windows7 clients.
First, I"d post this in the Novell forums under OES since it seems
likely that this is related to OES more than SLES.
Second, just to be sure, run net use from the command line on your
windoze boxes before and after they connect to see how things look.
Post the output here or in your new thread in the OES forums. This is
mostly to ensure you are using NSS/NCP and not SMB since the syntax is
the same for both and it all depends on which “provider” provided the
connection.
