Question about GitHub Issues - Howto proceed the best way

Hi Gals and Guys,

I got a question about how to open GitHub Issues the best way. I opened an issue 13 days ago and I’m a little bit confused, that nothing happened so far, since there are Issues which have similar requests for enhancement like mime. The difference seems to be, that it is opened by an employee of Rancher Labs. So my conclusion has, that I did something wrong when I opened mime and wanted to ask, if there is some guide, which I should follow, in order to get attention with my request.

Hi can you post the issue here or the issue number?

The plain honest truth is that it is hard to keep up with issues opened. We do our best to triage, but the turn around time is not great.

Hi Craig,

thanks for your reply. And first of all - Thank you folks for building such a great concept to make Kubernetes Clusters much more manageable. In our company, we use Kubernetes for all customer projects and Rancher is a great help, when it comes to provisioning, deployments and operation. This is a pretty awesome piece of software craftsmanship and I’m a thankful user of Rancher.

So, now back to the topic. The issue I refer to is the following:

The idea behind the enhancement proposal is to get rid of hardcoded region list in the Azure Cluster driver of Rancher, in order to make provisioning much more flexible in case of Azure AKS Clusters. Some of our customers here in Germany want to host there AKS Cluster in Germany as well, due to legal requirements. Apart from that the Azure cluster driver loses its appeal when hardcoded lists are used and I think that the ingenious concept of Rancher could become even better. Maybe your designers would agree.
