I can’t believe no one has posted their goodies list, yet! Except
Michael! : )
A print signed by Rod Lord from the Hitchhiker’s Guide TV series (“The
babel fish is small, yellow, leechlike, and probably the oddest thing in
the universe. […]” for those familiar with the show). It goes very
nicely with my autographed towel.
The Matrix trilogy on blu-ray. T-shirt from ThinkGeek that reads “Stand
Back: I’m going to try science”.
Ken got me a registration key for Minecraft. Quite addictive.

Do you have the towel framed, also? What fun gifts! : )
The towel isn’t framed, a lot harder to transport in a frame.
But I got the towel signed back in the 80’s when I met Adams. He said
he’d never signed a towel before nor been asked to do so, so it’s
possibly a unique item.

My son has been playing minecraft almost since the day it started - he
is totally addicted!
So am I - and Ken’s getting a registration key himself, so then he and I
can continue to play on the server here in the house. (I can turn off
authentication checks until then, but Ken’s rarely home these days. He’s
learned about ssh tunneling, though. )

I bought Minecraft when it was still in alpha. It’s been fun to see it
come together – almost like seeing a time-lapse of a skyscraper being
built. Lately, though, I’ve gotten kind of burnt out on it. Haven’t
played since before the holidays.

Amy wanted to know what the objective was, and Ken described it as “Legos
for adults”. That seems a very apt description, though survival/hardcore
mode is a little more involved than that, obviously.

Someone actually built a working 8-bit computer CPU in Minecraft.

It was either Minecraft or Runescape that had James first asking me about
“scripting” on his Mac! Yeah, James has been doing it since “Alpha” - I thought
that was an interesting business model to get people to pay for alpha code, but
then I remembered . . . .
