SAPB1 installation unreadable

Hi,

Does anyone experience this kind of problem before? When trying to install the software, the prompt out screen would be unreadable.
PS, how do i post pictures over here? is imgur allowed?

Thanks for the info. Anyway here is the picture, for a better understanding of the problem.

Possibly not plus there’s less than 24 hours between your original
post and latest reply. These forums are staffed by volunteers and
not official routes for support so if you want more prompt
attention you should open a Service Request directly with
SUSE.

Now back to your problem. How are you connecting to your server?
From the screenshot it looks like there might be a remote desktop
session involved?

Hi kennchee95,

might be some font mismatch or, worst-case and unlikely, memory corruption (had that once, years ago, where an X font server garbled internal maps and things went back to normal after a restart). Do you have a chance of changing the fonts in use?

That’s one of the reasons I dislike servers running graphical interfaces. Will the installer run non-graphical instead, if you i.e. unset the DISPLAY variable before starting “install”? It’d be only a work-around to the technical problem, of course.

J
