This laserprinter uses different communication channels and need different open ports to work.
Since SLED 15 I see “shadowprinter” of exact these printer. I have a Dell too - no problem.
Shadow printer means the system shows several versions of the printer, but only one works.
If I share a printer in domain (e.g. in my SLES) I get a shadow printer more.
Any idea why?
The problem that printers are shown twice is still open.
I use
SLES 12.3:
AVAHI-deamon runs.
I use HP device Manager
Firewall: Internal (desktop), so all ports are open
No problem, printer is shown only once.
SLED 12.3 (previouse)
AVAHI-deamon runs.
I use HP device Manager
Firewall: External (Laptop), but several ports for HP communication are open.
9100, 161,5353,162,427 both TCP and UDP
No problem, printer is shown only once.
SLED 15.1 (now)

What makes the difference?
We do have an ASUS WLAN with 2 SID with 2,4 GHz and 5GHz.
The problem occur when we use 5 GHz SID, not when we use the 2,4GHz SID.
Together with SUSE Support we had worked on it.
The shadow printer disapear when we stop CUPS. So cups search for the printer.
