I’m trying to find the cause of a crashed SLES vm. We vmotioned it to another vmware esx server Wednesday night at 10:35, at 11:24 /var/log/messages stopped updating, and at 11:35 it started again w/ the boot process. Before it stopped updating, the log was showing some normal postgresql transactions.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have kdump on or configured, nor did I have vmware tools debug on.
According to schealth, I have a tainted kernel, though I’ve learned thats probably due to a driver that’s not open source, probably a vmware driver.
