Hello,
I´m planning to buy a license for the latest version of SLES to install on some Intel architecture based PC’s featuring the DX79TO Extreme series motherboard.
I searched the Intel website but I couldn´t find any information on compatibility of this specific motherboard with Suse Operating systems.
My question is, does SLES support this specific model of motherboard? I guess so but I need to make sure before buying the license.

It depends what you mean by “support”.
Vendors who provide a HCL (Hardware compatibility List) generally test
very specific configurations. If your configuration uses even a
different hard drive, it is not guaranteed to be compatible.
The Intel website shows limited compatibility with some older
motherboards but says nothing about yours. That could simply mean they
haven’t tested it.
SLES is a server operating system. If you plan to deploy a server, you
should really do so using a server class motherboard. Your motherboard
is a high performance “enthusiast” board but that is not the same.
If you insist on using SLES with the DX79TO, I suggest you download a
free trial of SLES and try it. That’s probably the best indication
you’ll have of what works and what doesn’t.
If you want to get an idea of how compatible this board is with SUSE
Linux then you may find more information in one of the SLED or OpenSUSE
forums.

If you experience any issues running SLES with this motherboard you may
be able to run it in a virtual machine. You would need to install an
operating system that is compatible with this motherboard (Linux or
Windows) then install your virtual machine software: VMware, Xen,
VirtualBox, etc.

Actually, I intend to build a PC cluster with them so a virtual machine is out of question.
