SLES for SAP for all our SAP environments required?

We’re building a new SAP deployment and various teams requested their own test landscape beside our dev, testing and production landscapes.

My question is if anyone has experience running SAP HANA on regular SLES systems with Standard subscription?
We won’t require support for these environments and therefore would prefer to run SAP HANA on regular SUSE SLES servers.

Form what I can tell there are some kernel settings and packages specific to ha/cluster setups. Anything else I might have missed?

Anyone experience with this?

SUSE published TID 7017320[1] to advise on migrating SLES12 SP1 to
SLES for SAP Applications 12 SP1. In that TID is a link to a
package which contains a script to handle the migration but can
also be used to reveal the differences between the two - you can
use “rpm2cpio /path/to/package.rpm | cpio -idmv” to extract the
script without installing the package.

Further to my reply above you may also find the Frequently Asked

Thanks Simon. The FAQ was my first stop when looking into this. I’ll take a look at the upgrade script.
