SLES11 Oracle DB crash and FS-locks on NFS not removed

Hi there,

we are using SLES11 with Oracle DB on a NFS Filesystem from Netapp Filer.
Sometimes the DB crashes and the lock files are not automaticaly removed from the Netapp Filer. Therefor the DB will not start and we have to remove teh locks by hand.
The Oracle Support says the OS must remove the locks and they out of scope

We see in the message file following entry:

Hi Eberhard,

seems like no-one responded so far - I had seen your question and did a quick background check, but without turning up any helpful details.

From the nature of those messages, I’d highly recommend to open a service request with SuSE.
