Since SLES11 installs a sles-release package I don’t see why you couldn’t
grab the blocking one for OES11 SP1 and install/update that.
However I’m wondering why you want to do this if the server isn’t running
OES11. Are you wanting to install this on a (plain) SLES11 SP2 server to
stop it being updated to SLES11 SP3? I’m not sure it would be supported
though and then there’s the question of undoing it (when you eventually
want to do the update).

I tried downloading & installing it, said the update was already
installed, yet the sp3 update tool still shows up.

This is my SMT box. I just brought it to sles11sp2 only a month or so
ago, just didn’t want to update it yet. When it comes time, I’ll
probably just use the sles11sp3 media and do an offline update anyway.
