texlive package

I like to rebuild a source rpm package (cfengine). But the rebuild process don’t find the package texlive. Do you know what texlive is and how I get installed on SLES 10?

Hi daylight1,

texlive was not included with SLES10, but is with SLES11 - any chance to upgrade, especially as SLES10 is far old and out of support (unless you happen to have some long-term support agreement)?

You could always grab a source distro (or the source package from SLES11) and try to rebuild it on SLES10, though.

Jens

It’s not actually in SLES 11 though, it’s in the SLE 11 SDK.

If you can update to SLES 11 SP3 the relevant version of the SDK is at http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=hF8sRGTVC04 (you only need DVD1).

One option is to use the installer from http://www.tug.org/texlive/ and install in to /opt or wherever then add the relevant directory to $PATH. I do this with SLED 11 because the version of TeXLive included in SLED 11 and the SLE 11 SDK is TeXLive 2007. (I don’t ‘do’ TeX myself, but people who do indicated to me there is desirable functionality that’s only included in versions after 2007.)

Come to think of it, that may or may not work for the purposes of rebuilding an src.rpm. If the spec file lists one or more texlive packages in BuildRequires, the above described method wouldn’t work satisfy that. If the Build part of the spec file just looks for the relevant commands, it ought to work.

Thank you for the replies but I found it http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Publishing/SLE_10/noarch/texlive-2010-74.1.noarch.rpm

Hi daylight1,

Thank you for the replies but I found it http://download.opensuse.org/reposit…4.1.noarch.rpm

great you found that one - I had searched for “texlive” on software.opensuse.org but no SLE10 package would show up :frowning:
