Trying to install Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5 Server -

I have Tech support with Acronis but they are passing the buck.

Tech told me:

As far as I understand, the current problem is that installation of Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5 Server for Linux fails with “Failed to find directory ‘/lib/modules/2.6.32.49-0.3-default/build’ with the kernel sources”
The issue is that the setup program cannot find kernel source files in the /lib/modules/<MY_KERNEL>/build or in the /lib/modules/<MY_KERNEL>/source directory.

Installing kernel source varies with every distributor of Linux.

In case of Debian and Ubuntu, the command is like the following.
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install linux-headers-uname -r
$ sudo apt-get install linux-image-uname -r

You may need to contact Suse Linux - https://www.suse.com/ if you are not familiar with this.

Please install the product after installing kernel source and let me know if the issue is resolved.

End quote…

Does someone know what I need to do - I really need a backup.

I would really appreciate some help if you know of a solution.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi
What version of SLES are you running?

cat /etc/SuSE-release

As root user you need to run the following command;

zypper in kernel-source kernel-syms linux-kernel-headers make gcc

If you on SLES10, then substitute rug for zypper.
