When I am playing videos, I see artifacts in videos. I thought, that is
flash player problem, but vlc has same problem. Newest catalyst didn’t
solve problem. In openSUSE and in SLED is same problem with proprietary
drivers, in openSUSE open drivers are without video tearing. I thought,
that switch to intel graphics can solve my problem, but intel graphics
on SLED has the same problem and intel hd graphics on SLED can’t use
compiz…
I don’t see the issue with an Intel device. And mine -
Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller
(rev 07) - is capable to work with Compiz.
I can say also that integrated ATI Radeon 4200 graphics device doesn’t
have the issue also. But I use device vendor’s driver, not from the
repositories.
Ou, it seems, that needs restart after activating compiz. Ok, compiz
under intel is functional now.
I don’t have any problems too on Ubuntu LTS with ATI 6850. But in
Ubuntu I have in ATI config more settings. With this settings I am
capable fixed issue with tearing in Ubuntu. But not here in SLED…
Drivers from ATI web has the same problem.
