Whadja get for Christmassssss?

We had a wonderful Christmas this year, not that other years have been
bad. It just seemed especially peaceful and nice this year. We watched
Elf, which has become my favorite Christmas movie. I’ve heard that some
people think it’s silly, and I just don’t understand that. I think it’s
sweet, and for me it brings back the magic of Christmas from my
childhood.

How did you all spend Christmas, and whadja get? : )

First planned Christmas in this house since we moved in almost 9 years ago.
We stayed here one year when we got snowed in.

My mother is visiting, and it’s been great! I got a popcorn popper, my
mother brought a bunch of old silver coins that she wanted me to have, Best
Buy gift card, necklace, gloves, and a little 3 pod aerogarden to add to my
collection.

So my response to Susan’s comment is…

Was pretty nice, hung out with my brother a lot, spent time with my
folks too. Mom & Dad got my bro & I each a droid tablet, Dad got Mom
one for her bd in Sept.

My brother’s not too big on all the online stuff (aside from his ps3),
but he’s been on it a bit, messing around with it, so that’s been fun.

We got our folks a new computer room chair, of course Mom had bought
one too so she returned hers…

Stevo

Sounds like a lovely Christmas. Droid tablets all around! : )

Malcolm:

So you had the full complement of Christmas movies. We mostly
listened to music. I love the old Christmas songs.

Your Android mini looks like fun! : )

Well, it’s about time you spent Christmas at home, Danita. LOL.

Sounds like a very nice time with family. : )

Oops, I forgot to mention what we got.

I got a very nice airbrush and compressor set. It’s actually three air
brushes, so I can see which type I like best. I’ve set up a spray booth
in a room upstairs where I won’t end up accidentally painting the bird
or clogging her little lungs, and will be decorating some fabric,
eventually. Right now I’m just practicing the different strokes. I also
got a new safety-handle rotary cutter, some very nice curved embroidery
scissors, and the first season of Homeland on DVD.

John got the Hunger Games trilogy for his Kindle, a new photo scanner,
some fur-lined Crocs for slippers, some new shirts and slacks, and I
made a rib roast for him for dinner that was melt in the mouth
incredible, even if I do say so myself! LOL. With his restricted diet,
he doesn’t get things like that very often anymore, so it was a special
treat for us. : )

Spent a couple of days up to Christmas Day morning with my brother &
sister-in-law, then up to the farm to have Christmas dinner with SWMBO’s
family, then back home to spend the rest of Christmas Day & Boxing Day
as just the 3 of us. Was so good to see Edward’s face when opening all
his presents - he was very spoiled, but I think next year will be the
big one when he realises what’s going on!

Oh, and I got a very cool ukulele - it’ll be nice to learn a musical
instrument for the first time in years

Michael:

I got John an ukulele for his birthday this past year. It’s good
exercise for his hand and arm. It’s also a great little instrument, and
they seem to be very popular now. There are some great ukulele videos
on youtube, not just in terms of how to play it, but people doing
amazing things with them.

It must have been wonderful to watch Edward’s first Christmas, even if
he didn’t quite yet understand what was going on. Next year should be
great fun! : )

Am struggling to find some time to sit down & start learning, but have
at least got an electronic tuner and tuned the strings! Looking forward
to getting stuck in soon though

Yes, he had a great time on both his birthday and Christmas - although
it was actually his 2nd Christmas (being born the week before Christmas
2011)

This Christmas will definitely be fun (!) - what with Edward starting to
realise what the fuss is about and what will be a 4 month old little
brother or sister for him…
