What to do when "Press Control_L + Alt_L to release pointer" displayed on the title header of window

I tried pressing control L and Alternate at the same time, but it did not release the pointer. Instead, somehow it ended my Gnome session and I had to log in again…
What should I do?

The only time you should have to do that is if the pointer is locked in the VM and you can’t click out of it. I have never seen that happen.

I have seen this at least 4-5 times already…
Each time, I have to stop the course, then come back later…
So no way to solve it?

I stop the course yesterday, and came back today.
But it is still locked… (I will try to shutdown the VM)
