Hi and welcome to the Forum :slight_smile:
What version of SLED? Please post the output from;

uname -a
cat /etc/os-release

If you run the command dmesg is there some clues (missing firmware) in the output?

There is an option to use a third party package called broadcom-wl, but need to know the system info first.

Hi
Nothing in dmesg output?

For the third party rpm, this needs to be built from the src rpm;
http://packman.links2linux.org/package/broadcom-wl/817893

As root user install;

kernel-default-devel kernel-syms make gcc rpmbuild

As you user rebuild the package;

rpmbuild --rebuild broadcom-wl-6.30.223.271-7.3.src.rpm

In the last 10 or so lines you will see the two rpm’s needed down in the ~/rpmbuild/RPMS/x86_64 directory;

As root user, change to the above directory, install and rebuild initrd;

su -
cd /home/your_user/rpmbuild/RPMS/x86_64/
zypper in broadcom-wl-6.30.223.271-7.3.x86_64.rpm broadcom-wl-kmp-default-6.30.223.271_k4.4.82_6.3-7.3.x86_64.rpm
mkinitrd
systemctl reboot

Thanks! That worked like a charm
Last problem what about discrete graphics?

Hi
OK, one thing to note, after a kernel upgrade it will drop the wl module into weak-updates, so you will at some point need to rebuild/install the updated kmp again…

What type of graphics, intel/nvidia? For this look at the bumblebee project…
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_Bumblebee

I don’t see a SP3 repo yet…

Hi
Can you disable the intel in the BIOS?

Look at vgaswitcheroo?
https://01.org/linuxgraphics/gfx-docs/drm/gpu/vga-switcheroo.html

Does the system see the amdgpu or radeon driver?

/sbin/lspci -nnk |egrep -i -A3 "VGA|3D"
