But

and their is no wlan0 for the broadcom card either???

Where did I go wrong?

Hi
Your ethernet uses the atl1c not the e variant. If you look at the
output from dmesg, is it asking about firmware? Also is the
kernel-firmware package installed?

You will need to go into YaST network devices and configure up your
network ethernet card to change the module.

Hi Malcolm

Yes kernel drivers is installed. In /lib/firmware I have an ath3k-1.fw and a ath6k/AR6002 and AR6003 file…

Where do I get atl1c from?

YAST gives me this error:
Unable to configure network card because the kernel device (eth0, wlan0) is not present. This is mostly caused by missing firmware (for wlan devices). See dmesg output for details.

but dmesg does not give me any ethernet or wlan messages:

Hi
It’s part of the kernel, can you use modprobe to load it and see if
that works.

If it does, then open YaST and use /etc/sysconfig editor and add to the
section “MODULES_LOADED_AT_BOOT” this will rebuild your initrd so it
will load during boot.

Hi Malcolm

I can only find it in the src directories and I cannot figure out how to compile it???

atl1c_ethtool.c
atl1c.h
atl1c_hw.c
atl1c_hw.h
atl1c_main.c
ls.txt
Makefile

the Makfile only has 2 lines in it:
obj-$(CONFIG_ATL1C) += atl1c.o
