What is the best way to use cd patch update? If my target is to upgrade SLES 10 from SP2 directly to SP4, and then to upgrade oes2 sp 1 to oes2 sp 3
Should I patch SLES first or OES?
Following this, Want to further patch both SLES and OES to 11 and the latest SP.
I try to mount the ISO and then use CD patch update after adding mounted folder as a source from YaST, but the CD Patch update does not recognize any new patches.
I tried to add the ISO as a source directly (without mounting) and then run CD patch update it does not recognize any new patches.
I went to online update from Yast and it does not find any new patches.

Bringing the system from SLES10SP2 to SP4 is, technically speaking, not “patching”, but upgrading. SuSE has provided the “wagon” tool to automate that process. The according upgrade documentation, including detailed steps and options for the upgrade, can be found with the documentation for each code level. SLES10SP4 is rather old: From what I can tell, you should be updating to some level of SLES11 (see http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7010200). But again, I’d expect the OES folks to be more knowledgeable concerning the dependencies and optimum upgrade paths.

Any advise? Currently it is SLES 10 SP2.[/color]
No, as Jens (jmozdzen) replied, you have OES2 SP1 so should repost this in
one of the Novell OES support forums.
What I will say here though, since it’s important, is that upgrading OES2
SP1 to OES2 SP3 directly is not supported and that if you want to upgrade
(as opposed to migrate) you need to go via OES2 SP2.
If you repost in an OES support forum then I, or a fellow Knowledge
Partner, can provide you with further information on your options and
procedures.
