As in when the system starts? If so edit the /etc/inittab file and
change the 5 to 3;
# The default runlevel is defined here
id:3:initdefault:If you just want to get to a VT (Virtual terminal) press ctrl+alt+F1
through F6 and F7 to get back to the Desktop GUI.
