Checking System Services (runlevel) hangs process

When trying to run System Services from Yast or Yast GUI, it gets to 71%, then a couple minutes later to 85% and hangs. This is at point - “Initializing system services (runlevel)”.

I can run chkconfig from command line OK. Although it’s been a while, the GUI version was previously working OK.

Using SLES11

The ‘y2log’ is the source of all information for Yast. Truncate it first,
or at least just get what’s new from your latest attempt, as the files are
quite verbose and tend to be crazy huge.

Great information.

Not SP1 or SP2? Does the patch help? Does this happen on any similar
systems (prod/test/dev/staging/qa) or anything?

Good luck.

I have the same symtoms. I upgraded to kernel 2.6.39 on openSUSE 11.3. What can I do?
I would like to add a start/stop service.
thanks

Since you’re using openSUSE you want the openSUSE forums which are at https://forums.opensuse.org/
Please note that openSUSE 11.3 is End Of Life.
