I am trying to decrease my /home partition on SLES 10 SP3 using LVM in
If you are using LVM for /home then it is a Logical Volume, not a
partition. If it is a partition, LVM won’t help you.
I am able to increase the partitions, however when i tried increasing

follows swap, then there is no room to expand it.
Can somebody please help me with how to unmount partitions so i can
decrease their size.
See the man pages:
Also, would the same work for SWAP partition as well without losing
Swap is only used when needed while the server is running. There is no
need to save any data in the swap partition. Just delete the partition
and create a new one (preferably when the server isn’t running…).
Thanks a lot.
