I implemented ELK stack as described in http://rancher.com/running-our-own-elk-stack-with-docker-and-rancher/.
Works fine but now, before thinking to put it in production I’d like to know if it is still considered a way to go or if other options should be considered.
What let me a little bit puzzled is the fact that configurations in github still refer to ELK 2.x while elastic is now in 5.3 release.

I wonder about the same thing. The original Rancher post on the matter is from 2015. A lot changed since then.
