Epson Stylus SX110

Hi staff,
i’ve bought one laptop HP with SLED (11.2) pre-installed.
Now, i’ve one Epson Stylus SX110 and i’ve installed the Avasys driver (64bit, celeron): http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du/02/DriverDownloadInfo.do?LG2=IT&CN2=&DSCMI=16842&DSCCHK=2d133f20224985baf11002387bad1faff30bef08

the printer now print, but often it’s hang even after a few minutes of activity and the on/off led blink.

Do you know this problem?
Are correct driver for suse?

many thanks!

Hi
If you look down in /var/log and look through the log files, else
connect to the cups server http://localhost:631 to see if you can see
it pausing.

You could try re-building the src rpm to see if that may help.

I am not sure rebuilding the RPM will solve the issue. You may contact he person behind the Epson driver.

Anyway, to rebuild a source RPM :

rpmbuild --rebuild /tmp/mypackage.src.rpm

Just change the file location.

Arnaud

ok, i’ve found the problem: Openoffice.

If i print one pdf, or one image, or another kind of file, the printer goes well.

now left to understand why …
thanks again

Thanks for the feedback. Usually, LibreOffice comes with SLED 11 SP2 : why do you still use OpenOffice ?

Also, I found LibreOffice somewhat not as good as I wanted. There are still commercial apps around that are more compatible with MS Office. If you don’t want to pay, FreeOffice should be available before the end of the year.

excuse me, LibreOffice.

…GASP!!!
