i have a SLES 10 sp2, after reboot, cannot start run level 5 , following the error message :

Hi
xdm is the login manager, is it installed? Since it’s a server, I would
imagine you don’t need powersave features running, so if you start YaST
runlevel editor you can disable.
So, do you want a graphical login running on the machine? Or is it
remotely accessed only?

So if you open a terminal and run;
which xdm
Is it found? Are you just getting to the console login only? If a
console login, login as your user and run the command;
startx
Does the Desktop start?
