This happens starting yast2 from the GNOME Traditional Menu > System > YaST
No problem when launched from terminal (\sbin\yast2).
Hi
Is that as root user, starting from the command line (terminal)?
Have you selected the qt GUI for gnome, or is it the gtk one?

yes, from terminal as root goes smoothly.
How can i verify in which mode it starts from GNOME menu (qt or gtk)?
$ /sbin/yast2 --gtk
$ /sbin/yast2 --qt
Both work for me.
Hi
You can also check via YaST /etc/sysconfig editor in the YaST module
for “WANTED_GUI” to configure it, if it’s set to qt then you need to
have the yast-qt installed.

They work for me too in terminal window. I’m not able to launch YaST from ‘Traditional GNOME Menu’ item, under ‘System’.
[QUOTE=mikewillis;9339]$ /sbin/yast2 --gtk
