The last I recall, he had more back surgery, but I think that was quite
awhile ago. Has anyone heard from him? Are you out there lurking,
Felton? : )

I just left him a voice mail - we’ll see if he will call back!

I talked to Felton today. He’s on “loopy medication” as he put it, and is
generally out of commission most days. He’s going in on Wednesday for a
checkup, and hopes to be feeling better soon. That said, he is actually not
feeling too bad when he’s on his medication, I don’t think, but it makes
communicating here a bit difficult!
He was happy to hear that folks are thinking of him!

Very glad to hear he’s doing OK, if a bit loopy due to the medication.
Amy and I were talking about him earlier today.
I know I’ve not been around but I’ve had some reasons.
Two back surgeries with another to come in the next month or so.
Two shoulder surgeries.
Broken foot from right knee buckling for no reason and I’m suddenly
falling down
Two different heavy duty narcotics and a nerve drug that puts me into
LA LA Land
Insomnia because of a side effect of the narcotics so I get 2-3 hours
sleep a night
Than I get home and pass out. Nancy has a nice picture of me sleeping
with my head in a plate of spagetti
I’m considered disabled at work so when I pass out or go to LA LA Land
they just let me alone
I just off a case of walking pneumonia (2.5 weeks at home drugged up
and sleeping)
I’m not allowed to pick anything heavier than 15 lbs so that limits
lots
I’m not allowed to drive until the LA LA LAND drugs have worn off and
when I’m only on one narcotic
12 injection procedures of the spine to identify what nerves have been
damaged by jumping out of airplanes
6 MRI
and just being plain worn down by chronic pain (throw a little
depression in for that one) that’s been going on for 5 years
The end is in sight, since we’ve identified all that’s wrong now.
Symptoms masking symptoms causing broken bones and such
Oh… and 5 months till I retire
I’m Alive Sober and crazy as a looney grasshopper taking narcotics
(like most SysOps)
Good to hear from you, Felton, and very sorry to hear of all of the
health issues. Boomer was asking about you just yesterday. We’ve been
concerned because you haven’t been around, and knew you’d had some
surgeries.
I do hope things get better for you both physically and emotionally.
And either way, in five months you get to retire, which should lift a
load of concern off your shoulders.
When you’re not in LA LA Land, and of a mind to, please stop in and say
hello again. Then we won’t worry so much, and you might feel good
hearing everyone happily greeting you. : )

That is outstanding news, but I’m so sorry to hear how rough things have
been to get to this point. Hang in there, Felton - and remember that
once you retire, you won’t have to deal with any of the internal politics
with your employer.
