We have purchased a dedicated server with sles11 SP1 license. I don’t know how to activate the product so I can get the SDK repositories to install some needed -devel libs for our system.

Fortunately your license is a “SLES” license - you’re eligible for SP2 as well, while your license is active… or SLES14, if you renew your license at the end of each period.
get the SDK repositories to install some needed -devel libs for our system.
Download the SLES11SP1 SDK ISO from SuSE and install it as an “Add-on product” via YaST, then you’re all set.
