When patching one of my SUSE 11/OES 11 servers some time back, I made the mistake of telling SUSE to remember the authentication without filling in the “for this session only” check-box.
I’d like to return that to the default setting of not remembering the password.
What steps do I need to take to remove the cached password?

Firstly please note that since you are asking about OES you should
really be asking in the Novell/Micro Focus Forums for Open
Enterprise Server.
However if you’re asking about what I think your asking about then
it applies to SLES as well - are you perhaps logged in via the
GUI as a non-root user then running YaST to patch with the
remembered password being the one for the root user? If not
please can explain where you saw this prompt.
HTH.
