John tased the bird!

Poor little Beaker got tased, accidentally, of course. It’s been very
dry here, and John didn’t realize he’d built up some static
electricity. He brought Beaker her food, set it down on her patio, and
then reached out to bring her down from the top of the outside of her
cage, and she started to step up onto his finger and ZAP!

The poor little thing squawked and flew around and hopped around for a
minute or so, actually shaking her foot out like you might see in a
comic. And now she won’t let him touch her. No surprise there.

He felt so terrible about it. It will be interesting to see how long
she stays mad at him. : )

Yes. There was no damage that we can tell, but she’s definitely wary of
John, now. : )

We still have carpet in a couple of rooms – it is very dry here so our
cats have learned to be cautious about touching their noses to our
hands…

I can imagine! It’s actually quite funny (unless you’re the bird I guess -
heehee).

featherless bird…made me chuckle…

It was funny watching her shake her little leg and hop around. She was
also very vocal about her dismay.

Without my glasses, the Subject is John tasted the bird!

As they generally are!

The latest bird antics at our house involve Weegie imitating the puppy (who is
here one day a week now to play in the yard). Weegie does a perfect “whimpering
puppy”.

Last week it really was hilarious, because I was saying “Rufus, come!”, and
Weegie countered with “Rufus, sit!”. The pup just stood in the middle of the
room looking up at me in bewilderment.

No, he’s never tasted the bird, though he does accuse her frequently of
smelling like chicken.

No, she’s mostly petulant. We’re thinking of getting her a pet budgie.
