Hmmmmmmm… I find myself torn on this one. People believe
“too-good-to-be-true” claims and do not even test the stuff thereby
putting their employees’ lives in danger? Send the purchasers to jail too
for negligence.

Comon…you buy and deploy thousands of pounds worth of bomb detection
equipment without ever BOTHERING TO TEST IT?!?

I can’t really call that stranger than fiction, I call it stupidity
(which isn’t really rare at all).

Not unusual. Many purchases are made based on great vendor marketing and
sales and never allowed to be vetted by people who actually understand
the business processes and technology who can ask the right questions.

I am sure many of us have seen it happen first hand.
