LUN questions for SLES 10 SP1

Hi all,

I don’t find the storage Limitations for SLES 10 SP1

Kernel: 2.6.16.46-0.12-smp

What the maximum number of LUNs supported ?
What the Maximum number of paths per single LUN ?
What the maximum number of paths with device-mapper-multipath (in total) per operating system ?

Thanks a lot !

Hi xsijwl,

are you actually talking about SLES10 SP1? That’s “quite old”… I’m sure even SuSE sources would have to dig out some historic sources to answer that question

Jens

I would not trust multipath at all on SP1. If this feature is important to you,
then you need to look at something newer.

It might be more interesting to know what you’re LUN requirements are. I’m
pretty sure that SLES 10 could handle 256 (or thereabouts) from a device.

Multipath though? You might want to reconsider your architecture IMHO.

And with that said, I’m talking FC… not iSCSI.
