Node Requirements for Rancher HA

Hi All.

I see this note on the HA installation documentation:

Note: These nodes must be in the same region/datacenter. You may place these servers in separate availability zones.

What does this mean exactly ? Is this referring to public clouds only ?

Mostly, yes. High latency is bad, particularly between the nodes running etcd. Cloud-provider controller integrations usually assume or require that the nodes are in the same zone and/or region.
