PERL::NET::SSh install?

I just want to clarify that the only way to installthe NET-SSH perlmodule is to use CPAN.
I have serached with zypper and it seems that I can’t find the module package in the normal repositories.

So I am assumign that you need to install it from CPAN only.

Hi
Is that perl-net-ssh or perl-net-ssh2?

You could check on the Open Build Service, generally most are in the devel:languages:perl repositories, else branch and build yourself, or like you indicate use cpan.

You don’t say which version of SLES you’re using but it looks like the
Perl Net::SSH module is not a standard package with SLES or SUSE Linux
Enterprise SDK.

As there doesn’t appear to be a third-party packaged version of the
module available via the Open Build Service, installing from CPAN would
seem to be your best option. Unless you want to download and install
manually.

If using CPAN you may find the following Cool Solutions article (now
moved to SUSE Conversations) I published useful:

Hi Simon,

I thought I had it is SLES 11.3

if only these things were automagically built into the SLES repo’s

Thanks for the link I will take a look at it.

HI Malcolm,

Thanks Man. I did take a look but it seems that the versions on there are not currnt and also not built for SLES 11.3

In our environment we need to have “Reputable” sources for our rpm’s and so an official SUSE repo would have been ideal.

I will check on Simon’s post and see if I can build something from that.

Thanks
