I am having a problem installing libuuid-devel and can’t figure out what is the problem.
[FONT=Courier New]nellis:/home/bwalker # zypper install libuuid-devel
Refreshing service ‘nu_novell_com’.
Loading repository data…
Reading installed packages…
‘libuuid-devel’ not found in package names. Trying capabilities.
No provider of ‘libuuid-devel’ found.
Resolving package dependencies…
Nothing to do.

I’ve made sure all my repositories are correct and it still fails. I’m fairly new to Linux administration but this one has me completely stumped.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi
Assuming your using SLE 11 SP2, Do you have the SLE11-SDK-SP2-Core
repository?
If not you will need to add the SLE SDK to your installation.

Malcolm,
Yes, I am using SLES 11 SP2.
As per your suggestion, I installed the SDK to my installation.
What I did was download the iso images from Novell, added it to my repository using Yast, and then added the package that I was interested in.
I would never have known about the SDK without you mentioning it to me.
What can I get the SLE11-SDK-SP2-Updates repos?

Hi
Add the SDK via YaST → Add on products and point to your iso image, it
will do the rest and add online and update repositories for the SDK.
